February 2008

Two Scout leaders and two Scouts visited the International Scout centre at Kandersteg, Switzerland.  The county scout run holiday which was just over a week included 3 days skiing, sledging, snow shoe walking, curling, ice skating, the list goes on.  A fabulous time was enjoyed by all.  Roll on the next trip in 4 years time !!!

January  2008

 Christmas Bag Packing brings yet more funds to the group with just over £2000 raised.  That new trailer is now within reach.  Just have to decide which one to purchase !!

Also the Scouts spent the weekend at a cottage in Burwarton and enjoyed a fabulous time despite the long walk on Saturday.

 July/Aug   2007

The Scouts have just returned from a week long camp at Rhydd Covert to celebrate the centenary of Scouting.  Activities included a day at Alton Towers, water sports, day at the Jamboree at Chelmsford and so much more.

Once again the Scouts bring home the 5 a side trophy.  Well done to the Scouts and big thank you to Paul Birch, Gary Monk and Mr Pepperal for managing and producing a winning team.  Can we make it 3 years running next year.  Watch this space !!!

April  2007

Easter time and yet more bagpacking.  Another great result with nearly £1000 raised in two sessions.  A big thank you to all those involved. Some of the money will help subsidise the summer jamboree camp for those Beavers, Cubs and Scouts attending. 

Also the 22nd April is St Georges day parade where the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts all march to the Glades Arena for a big centenary service with the Guides and Brownies. CLICK  to see the pictures

March 2007

In celebration of the Scouting Centenary Beavers,Cubs and Scouts have been making kites and will be flying them together at Rhydd at the end of March.  For once lets hope it's windy. CLICK  to see the pictures

January 2007

The Scouts celebrate the new year with 2 nights staying in the log cabin at Kinver campsite. They have a go at crate stacking and enjoy a walk out to the Kinver edge cave houses.  Then later in the hut a feast is enjoyed followed by some party games.  CLICK  to see the pictures

It's a great Christmas and another superb year for bagpacking once more with nearly £3000 raised for the group.  It's going to be a busy year with the celebration of 100 years of Scouting, and now we have enough money to finish off the front of the hut !!!
